Lately my work load has been focused on researching new online publications and data for one of our clients, Aladdin Bail Bonds. Working with our new Account Supervisor, Ryan, he has been having me research new media outlets that we can potentially utilize for our online efforts for Aladdin.
Researching this kind of information isn't as simple as just 'Googling' what you want to find and clicking on the first thing that pops up. I am trying to find publications that have the ability to Geo-target the specific market and demographics that we are looking for. Trying to find data to correlate broadcast ads generating a direct online response has proven to be quite difficult. Also searching for data that illustrates the socioeconomic status of various demographics of internet users and what they are utilizing the web for, is somewhat difficult.
So far, I have used a couple different research websites to try and dial down the exact information I am searching for. But I am still searching for some information regarding socioeconomic status of various demographics and tying that into what they are using the internet for. Also searching for data regarding a direct online response after an offline advertisement is challenging. There are so many factors playing into it that there may or may not be data supporting the idea.
Nonetheless, having the ability to produce solid research is always a great trait to possess. Today after researching all morning, I had the pleasure of taking a nice bike ride through Balboa park to document the new on-site 'Art Alive' banners for San Diego Museum of Art. It was a fantastic day for a bike ride, sunny, cool breeze, not to mention always nice to get away from staring at a computer screen all day.
But alas, back to the office and straight to researching. Nice little break and always a great reminder of how wonderful it is to intern at such an amazing, fun, active company.
